Cuba: Through These Eyes [Photographic Book]
Photographer Lyn Avery shares a joyful photographic essay, created during her visits to Cuba. Sweet, personal exchanges with its diverse people produce intimate portraits and images of a lifestyle in Cuba of which we may not be cognizant.
“It occurs to me that a new view is emerging of Cuba and its people,” says Ms. Avery. “It begins with the awareness and willingness to separate our ideas regarding any government and its policies from the people who live within its structure. Then as we begin to travel, in this case to Cuba, and have opportunities to sit in relationship with our Cuban family, our eyes are opened to a people who are warm and open-hearted, longing to be included on the world stage, and with so much to offer us.”
With a vision of peace on Earth as her foundation, Ms. Avery travels the world, exposing a vibrant, joyful, interconnected humanity that will not survive unless we begin to live more consciously from a place of personal commitment to inclusiveness and love.
